Roger Penske and Sam Hornish Jr. were presented with the BorgWarner Championship Driver and Owner trophies, commonly referred to as the "Baby Borgs," at the public driver's meeting this morning. The Baby Borgs are miniature replicas of the BorgWarner Indianapolis 500 trophy, which made its first appearance at the Speedway in 1936. The American Auto Racing Writers and Broadcasters Association held their annual breakfast Saturday at the Brickyard Crossing. The Jigger Sirois Award, given to the driver experiencing May's worst case of bad luck, was presented to P.J. Jones. Jones had trouble finding speed and never made a qualifying attempt. While accepting the award, Jones referred to it as "whipped cream on a turd."

Team Penske's third consecutive Pit Stop Competition victory was the team's tenth dating back to Bobby Unser in 1981.

Sam Hornish's new helmet design, which still includes the red and white stripes of the American flag, will debut on Sunday. In addition to a row of bricks that will intersect the stripes, wings will flank the stars on the face mask to commemorate Hornish's 2006 Indianapolis 500 victory.

Honda will continue to award the winning crew chief with a Valkyrie Rune motorcycle. Matt Jonsson won the 1832 cc liquid-cooled bike last year. The bike's horizontally-opposed six cylinder engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission and a final shaft drive.
