On Qualifying "The car is very good. Very free. I don't know how they're doing the 223s (mph), but my hats are off to them. I'd love to know their secret. I'm flat all the way around."
On Tomorrow's Race "Fuel economy is not going to be an issue in the race tomorrow; it's going to be about who is fastest. Period. If I wasn't in the race tomorrow night, I'd be up watching it from the stands...it's gonna be great."
On The Track "This is a beautiful track. Very smooth; very fast. Normally our cars can feel the seams of the track, but not here. Bruton Smith has it down!"
Comments by Robby Unser, #52 Children's Beverage Group/GForce/Oldsmobile Aurora/Goodyear
On Qualifying "The car is beautiful. This is the best car I've had for a track like this. I'm able to go wide open right away and stay flat. We've stepped up our engine program with Brayton and we seem to be making headway. The motors seem strong and the car is free and easy."
On Tomorrow's Race "Both Eddie and I have tested here so we have alot of experience of the track and that should pay off. The race is always a different story than qualifying and, at this track, how well you find and hold the tow is going to make a big difference in your performance."
On The Track "This track is wide and smooth. It really lends itself to great racing. We'll definitely be running two or three wide....and quick! It's an amazing thing to watch guys running next to each other at these speeds and I hope everyone comes out to watch the show!"
