Skip Barber trained Michael Andretti has scheduled a press conference at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway next Tuesday. The conference is expected to confirm that the winningest driver in CART history will race this season's Indianapolis 500 with a car entered by his CART FedEx Series team owner Barry Green.

Green, who early in the season denied all questions regarding a Team Green run at Indy, is not expected to announce any subsequent entries for his CART Team KOOL Green.

Andretti will be looking for his first Indianapolis win in the race that will see him make his first Indy Racing Northern Light Series start. The Pennsylvanian finished fifth in his first Brickyard start in 1984 and placed second in 1991.

Andretti's announcement would raise the number of CART drivers making an attempt at the Indy 500 to five, among them is fellow Skip Barber grad Helio Castroneves. Last May, 1994 Barber Pro Series racer Juan Montoya won the event as a CART driver.
