Greg Ray's #13 Access Motorsports Announces Engineer Change

DALLAS (Thursday, September 30, 2004) -- Greg Ray, Owner of the #13 Access MotorSports team has announced that Jeff Britton has taken over as lead engineer for the #13 University Loft, Honda Powered Panoz G Force. Britton was the original engineer with Access Motorsports and has replaced Mike Colliver.

"Mike engineered our Honda powered car to a front row start in Japan and we definitely had the car to win at Texas in June," stated Ray. "Mike is a very good engineer and with different circumstances, personally, I could see working together with him again. However, with plans to run two-cars starting at Texas this year and in 2005 -- the team just has different ideas on how to achieve these goals. In racing, sometimes change is just necessary, and we mutually decided to go in a different direction. We wish Mike all the best," Ray concluded.

Colliver began engineering for Ray at the second IndyCar Series event on March 21, 2004 at Phoenix International Raceway. The team earned a front row starting position at Twin Ring Motegi, the third race of 2004, just thousands off the pole position. Ray and Colliver worked together for six races in the IRL Series with two top-ten finishes.

The #13 University Loft, Honda powered Panoz G Force running on Firestone tires will be racing this Sunday at California Speedway in the Indy 400 at 3:00 p.m. (ET) televised live on ABC-TV.
