Infiniti Pro Series team owner Sam Schmidt will be honored this evening at the 12th Annual Sports Legends Awards dinner to be held at the Omni Hotel in Los Angeles. The Gala, promoted by The Paralysis Project of America, honors athletes in several categories for their contributions on and off their field of choice.

"This is truly an honor to receive this award on behalf of The Foundation's efforts," said Schmidt. "It is also unbelievable to be recognized on the same evening as Sports Legends Mario Andretti, Greg LeMond and Rod Carew. This is really an award to be shared jointly with the entire Motorsports community as they have supported our efforts with participation and funding at our events throughout the year. I have never lost hope that there will be a cure for paralysis in my lifetime."

The mission of the Sam Schmidt Paralysis Foundation is to help individuals overcome spinal cord injuries and other debilitating illnesses by facilitating scientific research, medial treatment, rehabilitation and technological advances. The Foundation raises funds to improve quality of life and ensure the best possible outcomes by touching individual lives.
