RAHAL LETTERMAN RACING TO CARRY UNITED WAY FLOOD RELIEF INFO ON ITS INDY CAR
Newton, Iowa -- The Rahal Letterman Racing team with Ryan Hunter-Reay (#17 Ethanol Dallara/Honda/Firestone) at the wheel always carries the environmentally-conscious Ethanol logo into its IndyCar Series battles, but for this week's Iowa Corn Indy 250 at Iowa Speedway, the team and its driver are trying to help those that were stricken by an environment gone wrong.
In response to the devastation that visited Iowa citizens in the past two weeks from tornadoes in the Northern part of the state to the rains and flooding that besieged much of the rest of the Hawkeye State, Rahal Letterman Racing will try to raise donation awareness for the victims, through its Indy Car program.
The #17 car will carry the donation information for Midwest Flood Relief via its in-car camera for this weekend's event, to be carried live on ABC. The Midwest Flood Relief and its website www.liveunited.org are part of the United Way campaign to help those that were affected by the natural disasters of June.
"It is my pleasure to carry Midwest Flood Relief on the Ethanol car this weekend," said Hunter-Reay. "My hope is that the exposure will drive viewers and fans to visit www.liveunited.org to make whatever donations they can to help the relief effort."
The team is also putting up part of its prize money to other relief efforts, through the fund put together by the IndyCar Series.
