Off-Week Testing Recap from Managing Director Mike Hull: "Our guys tested simultaneously in two locations. Dario's was a team test at Iowa for one day and Scott tested tires for Firestone at Chicago along with Tony Kanaan. The tests were very different as Dario's group worked on a test list of speed and performance items specific to TCGR for the Iowa event. Scott's guys worked with Firestone on compounds and constructions for the current race specifications for all of the IRL competitors at the one and one half mile oval events this season. The biggest difference between the two tests is that with a Firestone test, the team establishes a baseline for the car as quickly as possible, and doesn't test chassis items during the day as it is devoted to tire improvement comparison. The driver tries to run the same line on the track consistently through short and long runs for Firestone to determine performance variance with durability through a long-run. Conversely, a team test devotes itself to qualifying and race set-up specifically for our Target drivers. Both are important, but very different from the outset. Dario was testing for the 9 & 10 cars, and Scott was testing for the entire Indy Car grid."
