IndyCar to hold two races Sunday

Race officials have announced that two races will be held at Exhibition Place in Toronto.

The IndyCar Series will still be holding two races in Toronto, except both races will be held July 20.

Toronto race officials have just announced that the first of the two races will be held at 10:30 am EST with the second behing held at 4:15 pm EST.

Director of Competition Derrick Walker said that the amount of standing water on the backstretch of the track was a concern to drivers and fans.

"We do race in the rain, however we think of our drivers and fans safety. We cant throw people in the fence when the conditions are archaic," he said.

"The conditions were wet (in houston) but not as much standing water as this has. Everyone who has looked at it has come back and said no way... Do we want a good race, a championship race...or are we gladiators putting guys out there with a lion and see if they can get eaten in two laps."

He added that they will stay until Monday if it rains tomorrow with similar conditions.
