IndyCar qualifying suspended due to rain, Montoya on pole

The starting grid has been set by points.

Juan Pablo Montoya and Team Penske teammate Will Power will lead the field to the green flag after rain washed out qualifying for the second race in Detroit.

IndyCar cited 'deteriorating racetrack conditions' as their reason for suspending qualifying. Helio Castroneves, Scott Dixon, and Graham Rahal round out the top five.

Two groups were scheduled for 20 minutes each on the 14-turn street circuit before the rain washed the rest of the action out. Sage Karam was quickest in the first Group before IndyCar ended the session. Carlos Munoz won for the first time Saturday when Race 1 was called at lap 47 of 70 due to storms.
