Hinchcliffe admits a desire to race elsewhere

James Hinchcliffe will run stock cars, Pikes Peak, and the 24 Hours of Le Mans if he has things his way.

With Simon Pagenaud driving a souped up minivan up the big hill at Pikes Peak this coming weekend, we examine what another IndyCar rising star might consider in the future.

While co-hosting Speed Centre tonight on what will soon become Fox Sports 1, Canadian James Hinchcliffe spoke about what other racing he wants to do before his career wraps up.

"I am a driver, I will get in anything with four wheels and an engine, but something with 870 horsepower, that has some appeal to it I must say," he said during the broadcast about running at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.

"I would love to do Pikes Peak, but Chevy doesn't make a minivan, so it would have to be something a little cooler."

Hinchcliffe added that with open weekends in the IndyCar series could give him the opportunity to run NASCAR Nationwide races at Mid-Ohio and Watkins Glen in the near future.

"Interesting," said Hinchcliffe. "Very interesting. I would love the opportunity, I know those tracks well. I love driving new cars, getting the challenge of trying to learn a new machine. Absolutely, call me up, I would love to do it."

With the 24 Hours of Le Mans only a week away, it begs the question of whether or not that race is on, what Paul Tracy calls the 'bucket list.'

"It's definitely on the list," said 'Hinch. "But there is a lot. I want to do some stock car stuff, I want to try everything."
