Power Leads Penske 1-2 Qualifying at Edmonton

Defending Honda Indy Edmonton race winner Will Power continues to dominate IZOD IndyCar Series action at the City Centre Airport, as the Team Penske driver repeated his pole qualifying performance of 2009 and will once again lead the 25-car field to the green flag in Sunday's 95-lap race.

Power led a 1-2 qualifying performance for Team Penske Saturday afternoon on the 1.97-mile temporary circuit, with Helio Castroneves qualifying second, just seven-hundredths of a second slower than Power's pole time. Target Chip Ganassi Racing will make up the second row of the grid, with Scott Dixon starting third and Dario Franchitti fourth. Sunday's Honda Indy Edmonton, the final temporary-circuit event of 2010, starts at 6 p.m. EDT, with live television coverage on Versus.

Will Power (#12 Team Penske Honda) pole qualifier, 6th pole of 2010 and 8th career IZOD IndyCar Series pole: "We started out with a pretty tough [qualifying] group, but our car was good. Still, I knew Helio [Castroneves] would be real close, we've been pushing each other hard all weekend, so I gave it all I had. Track position is critical here, so it's great to start up at the front once again."
