From pole winner Ryan Briscoe, #6 Team Penske Dallara/Honda/Firestone: "Unbelievable! This one didn't come easy. I was doing all I could just to make the Firestone Fast Six. We put sticker tires on, and I was able to just lay it out for one lap. That was a scary lap, and I only just made it into the Fast Six. So sitting here on the pole, it really is quite amazing. We dialed it in during the last 10 minutes, and it felt great. On the first lap, the heat in the tires came in real quick, and I knew I had to do everything I could to get the pole today."
From Al Speyer, Executive Director, Firestone Racing: "What a great weekend - the weather is picture-perfect, and we're always impressed with how knowledgeable and enthusiastic the fans here in Edmonton are. Our company has plenty of racing experience at this City Centre airport circuit, and we're very happy with the performance of the Firestone Firehawks so far this weekend. Congratulations to Ryan and Team Penske for an outstanding qualifying performance on a track they have never visited before. We're looking forward to an exciting and action-filled race tomorrow with the field so closely matched on a wide-open race track."
