Competitive day for Wilson and Beatriz at the Milwaukee Mile
Dale Coyne Racing now returns to its race shop in Illinois to prepare for next weekend’s Iowa Corn 250.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - Dale Coyne Racing drivers Justin Wilson and Ana Beatriz enjoyed competitive drives in the 250 lap MilwaukeeFest 250 today here in Milwaukee.
In the end that would work against Justin as he got trapped on a yellow behind a lead car that did not pit and put Justin one lap down for the rest of the day.
The good news is that Justin was very strong, setting the fastest race lap for any Honda car and second fastest lap of the race to eventual winner Ryan Hunter-Reay. When the checkered flag fell Justin would end up a respectable 9th place, the first car on the one lap down pack.
Coming into this race, Justin was hoping for a top finish after qualifying on the front row in 2012. His 9th place finish would actual move him up one position in the overall points to 8th place overall.
“We would have liked to be a little stronger here today to get more points toward the championship,” commented Wilson. “The car was really good in the last stint and we were almost as fast as the leader. Hopefully what we have learned here will help us next week at Iowa.”
Ana “Bia” Beatriz, returned for the Milwaukee race for the DCR squad after running the first 5 races of the year. Bia would start 20th and ran an eventful race to finish 19th. Late in the race Bia had the car working very good when a incident with Tony Kanaan would cost her to spin and hit the wall in turn 3.
“The car was really good by the end of the race,” commented Ana. “I was going under Tony in turn 3 and he came down on me. I had to correct the steering very quickly and it caused me to spin up the track and hit the wall.”
Damage to the car was just a front nose and wheel, so Bia was able to rejoin the action and finish the race in 19th.
“It was really good to get back in a car after running well at Indy,” stated the talented Brazilian. “We hope to continue on for Iowa which is a track I really enjoy as well.”
The team now returns to its race shop in Illinois to prepare for next weekend’s Iowa Corn 250
Next Sunday’s race in Iowa can be seen next Sunday on ABC television at 2:30 PM EST.
