DREYER & REINBOLD RACING QUALIFIED FOR THE PEAK ANTIFREEZE AND MOTOR OIL INDY 300
Joliet, Illinois (August 27, 2010) - Dreyer & Reinbold Racing qualified for the Peak Antifreeze and Motor Oil Indy 300 in Joliet, Illinois today. The team's drivers Ana Beatriz (No. 24 Dad's Root Beer) and Justin Wilson (No. 22 Z-Line Designs) qualified 22nd and 23rd respectively.
Wilson will be making his third appearance at Chicagoland Speedway this weekend as he qualified 23rd for tomorrow's race. Today, the Brit recorded a two lap qualifying speed of 213.385 mph. In 2008, he qualified 21st and finished in 11th place and in 2009 he started 15th and finished 10th. Since joining the IZOD IndyCar Series in 2008, Wilson has recorded six top-10 finishes (2008: Kansas-9th, Milwaukee-7th, Richmond-7th, 2009: Chicagoland-10th, Homestead-10th , 2010: Indianapolis-7th) on ovals. He has led on an oval twice, (2008--Kansas led for five laps at Kansas, 2010--Indianapolis 500--led for 11 laps).
Ana Beatriz, who is filling in for the injured Mike Conway, made her return to Dreyer & Reinbold Racing today. The Brazilian had a good, solid run in today's session as she qualified 22nd for tomorrow's race. Her two lap qualifying average was 213.429 mph.
So far this season, she has two starts for Dreyer & Reinbold Racing under her belt (Brazil and Indianapolis). Beatriz is visiting Chicago for her third time, but it will be her first time in the top level of the sport. Bia's previous two starts at the track were in the Firestone Indy Lights Series, the ladder program of IZOD IndyCar, where she recorded her best finish of second.
What they have to say:
Justin Wilson, No. 22 Z-Line Designs: "We didn't have the best qualifying today. We were hoping to be a bit stronger than that, but we will look through the data and see what we can improve on. The car was totally different to what we ran this morning, so we will have to try it out in the half hour practice to make sure it's what we are expecting. Hopefully we can learn a few more things in that session before going into the race."
Ana Beatriz, No. 24 Dad's Root Beer: "I'm very glad to be back with Dreyer & Reinbold Racing. I have to thank Dennis, Robbie and Dad's Root Beer for the opportunity. I felt great inside the car. During the first practice, after six or seven laps I was flat and the car was good. We worked on some things to get me some more speed and that prepared us for qualifying. Now, our focus is on the race and to get a good race car for the race."
