Mario Dominguez Returns to the PCM Cockpit for Champ Car Finale
OXNARD, CA (April 17, 2008) -- Pacific Coast Motorsports announced today that Mexican racing start, Mario Dominguez will drive the #96 PCM DP01 this weekend at the Champ Car finale at the 34th running of the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach.
Dominguez drove for the Southern California-based PCM team at San Jose and at the final two races of the 2008 Champ Car season. Dominguez scored a top-ten finish for PCM at the series final event in his native Mexico City when he finished eighth, "We are thrilled to welcome Mario back to the team," said Team Owner, Tyler Tadevic. "Mario did a great job for us last year; he is the ultimate professional on and off the track. We are pleased to be able to offer him this opportunity in what will be a very memorable race for all of us."
One of Champ Car's most familiar faces of the last six years, Mario Dominguez has earned two victories, one pole position, 10 podiums and two top-six championship finishes. "I am really excited to reunite with PCM for the Champ Car finale this weekend. I've been a big supporter of the series and enjoyed most of my professional career and a lot of success in Champ Car the last six years, so this event is important to me and I am honored to be part of it," said Dominguez. "We had a good run at Mexico City, we ended the season on a high note and I believe we can compete for a podium finish this weekend in Long Beach. I look forward to seeing all of my fans in Southern California, they've given me a lot of support through the years and I am going to give them a good show this weekend."
In seven starts at Champ Car's most popular event, Dominguez has scored two fourth place finishes and a best start of third.
