Teammate Tony Kanaan and his #55 Hollywood/Mo Nunn Racing Honda-Reynard posted the eighth-fastest time of the day in today's afternoon session. Kanaan's best lap was a 1:41.780 (143.179 mph) effort.

Practice resumes at 10 a.m. CDT Saturday with qualifying scheduled for 1:45 p.m. CDT. ESPN2's qualifying show will be shown on a tape-delayed basis at 1 a.m. EDT Sunday. Race time on Sunday is noon CDT (1 p.m. EDT) with a live broadcast set for ESPN.

"It's all very simple. We just need to make the car better because I don't think even Superman would have had a good day with the problems we were having today. It was a little bit of everything going wrong, which during a lap around this track can put you pretty far behind. We have a handle on what we have to do, so it's just a matter of going through the checklist and making the car do what we want it to. It's a shame, but it could be a lot worse."
