Bourdais 2nd in Vancouver Prov. Qualifying; Junqueira 4th
Sebastien Bourdais, No. 2 McDonald's Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone: "The McDonald's 0x08e1r was good today. The first run was pretty good but I made a small mistake so my time could have been better. The second run was better and we moved up to second place. We need to improve for tomorrow and challenge Paul though. The weekend so far is looking like a repeat of Toronto. I hope it will be a repeat until the end with a win."
* FAST FACTS: Will be his second race...Started fifth but collided with Roberto Moreno at the start of the race and also made contact with a bunched field after a pit stop and had to return to the pits to replace the nose of his race car. Had dropped to 11th but charged back through the field and finished third...Leads the point standings with 164.
Bruno Junqueira, No. 6 PacifiCare Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone: "The balance was good on the first set of tires. There was a little more in the PacifiCare car but not enough to beat Paul's time. We had a vibration on our second run and we're not sure why. We'll have to look at it. I wasn't able to improve my time. The track was much faster in qualifying than we expected. We'll try to improve our starting position tomorrow. There were a lot of fans at the track today. The crowd looked great as it always does in Canada."
* FAST FACTS: Will be his fourth race here...Was the provisional polesitter on Friday but started second to polesitter Paul Tracy. Took the lead once the green flag came out and led the first 17 laps before Champ Car stewards ruled he had illegally taken the position and told him to allow Tracy to regain the lead. Finished second...Second in the point standings with 136.
ON THE SCHEDULE TOMORROW: The morning practice will begin at 10:00 tomorrow with final qualifying set to begin at 1:45 p.m. PT.
