(August 27, 1998) -- Arnd Meier and the Davis Racing team come to Vancouver for the Molson Indy Vancouver on September 6 after a season-best performance at Elkhart Lake.

Meier, 25, drove a near flawless race and the Davis racing pit crew led by chief mechanic Barry Brooke, helped Meier gain several positions with two near-perfect pit stops. All told, the complete team effort allowed the second-year German driver of the Hasseroder/TotalTel Lola-Ford/Cosworth, get 10th place.

"It's great to come to Vancouver with some momentum. I really think this new (track) layout will be good for the drivers and fans," says Meier. "I didn't race here last year, but I saw what the course was all about. There should be better places for the drivers to pass and race on."

It was a career best finish for Meier, topping his 12th place set earlier this season at Portland. It also topped a successful weekend for owner Gerald Davis, who before the race announced that European businessman J. Andreas Grajewski and his company Team J.A.G. bough part ownership of the Davis team.

Meier is the only German driver in the FedEx Championship and he has four points in the PPG Cup standings, which is a career best. The Molson Indy race will be Meiers' 25th start in CART, the 14th on a road course and the 32nd career start for Davis Racing in the FedEx Championship Series.
