JOURDAIN JR. ACHIEVES FIRST TOP TEN FINISH

Herdez-Viva Mexico! Team driver Michel Jourdain Jr. grabbed his first top ten finish in the FedEx Championship Series after starting from the 25th spot for Sunday's Molson Indy Vancouver race.

This is the second time that Michel has earned points in the 1998 season, the first time was in Nazareth. Also, for the third time in his Champ Series career, the Mexican driver scores points, the first was last year at Portland.

Michel Jourdain Jr., Car #19 Herdez-Viva Mexico! Team: "At the start of each full tank, the car developed understeer, but by half tanks the tires started to go away. That's why my first pit stop was under green, because I thought that somebody hit me but no, the rear tires were degrading and that was the problem. I was lucky that a caution flag waved soon after, so I didn't lose too much time pitting. Also, the car was loose in the last turn, that's the reason that I was entering the main straight slower than I wanted. In the other parts of the circuit I did consistent laps and I finished on the leader's lap."
