MONTERREY, MEXICO - Team KOOL Green's Paul Tracy and Dario Franchitti both scored points in today's Monterrey Grand Prix, as Tracy came home third and Franchitti ninth in the CART FedEx Championship season opener.

Tracy made another one of his customary charges through the field, coming from his 15th starting position to finish third. He made up six spots over the first two laps, before settling into a race pace and letting attrition and lightning-fast pit stops from the TKG crew help him claim the 43rd podium of his career.

Though Franchitti's day wasn't as successful, he ran a smart race and set the fastest lap of the race en route to a ninth place finish. Following his second and final pit stop, he was running in third place when he was assessed a drive-through penalty for a pit lane speed limit violation (51 mph vs. the 50 mph maximum pit lane speed).

PAUL TRACY, #26 TEAM KOOL GREEN HONDA/REYNARD:
(Started 15th / Finished 3rd / 3rd in CART FedEx Championship with 14 points)

"Our goal at Team KOOL Green this weekend was just to come away from here with some points. We were disappointed with our qualifying yesterday, but we new we'd have a good car for the race. We're going to have to have about 20 more days like this to win the championship. I know I can move to the front from any spot on the grid. It was really tough to pass today, but I muscled a couple of guys out of the way. It's a big confidence builder to score some big points in the first race."

DARIO FRANCHITTI, #27 TEAM KOOL GREEN HONDA/REYNARD:
(Started 7th / Finished 9th / 9th in CART FedEx Championship with 4 points))

"I didn't make a particularly strong start. I was just trying to be careful and a couple of guys got down the inside of me in turn two. I also went off the track on the first lap, trying to outbrake someone. After that, we just settled down and tried to not make any mistakes. The pit stops were just fantastic. I had some really good in laps. I think that last one was over a second faster than we qualified. And the Team KOOL Green guys were just phenomenal on the stops, as usual. That last stop was strong and we came out in third, but then we got a pit lane violation. We've run the pit lane speed limiter all weekend and haven't had a problem. I just don't get it. It's very, very frustrating. The KOOL car was really good today and It's nice to get some points out of this race, but it's very frustrating because of what it could have been.

KYLE MOYER, TKG GENERAL MANAGER:
"Regarding the pit lane speed limit violation, somehow we must have had an overshoot on the pit lane rev limiter, meaning the electronics couldn't slow the revs down quick enough to keep it under 50 mph (the pit lane speed limit).
