MICHAEL ANDRETTI -6- K Mart/Texaco/Havoline Ford-Cosworth - Qualified 3rd - "This morning we had a problem with the brakes and I was a little bit worried because the car did not feel as good. I was relieved that it was only a brake problem because the team fixed it and the car felt good after that. Basically I didn't get a good lap when the tires were at their best. I am very disappointed. I had a really quick lap going, one that I know would have had the pole, no question in my mind. It's disappointing that I didn't get to finish that lap. But starting third is not that bad place to start from. We will just have to wait and see what happens tomorrow." WHAT CAN WE EXPECT IN THE RACE TOMORROW? "I think it is going to be a normal Toronto race. It is going to be one of those deals where a yellow flag comes out at that magical lap and it will be a questions of do you take it or not and if you do it is going to be a fuel consumption race from then on. There could be a lot of cautions too because it is a type of track where if someone spins it blocks the whole track. It's a race that can change because of the cautions." WITH JUAN MONTOYA FURTHER BACK IN THE QUALIFYING ORDER, DOES THIS GIVE YOU GUYS A LITTLE BOOST IN REGARDS TO TIGHTENING UP THE CHAMPIONSHIP? "There are a lot of guys out there that can win the championship. There are a lot of guys capable of winning the championship. It is going to come down to finishing races. If you can finish races you are going to be there for the championship."

CHRISTIAN FITTIPALDI -11- Big K Ford-Cosworth - Qualified 5th - "I would be happier if we were a little further up on the grid but it is not too bad. I didn't get a clear run on my second set of tires. Never the less it is a long race in front of us and I am happy we are in the top-six." IS YOUR CAR BETTER SUITED FOR THE RACE RATHER THAN QUALIFYING? "Maybe. We didn't have a perfect car. I had a lot of problems yesterday and the black flag didn't help either. But the car was a little bit better this morning."

ADRIAN FERNANDEZ -40- Tecate/Quaker State Ford - Qualified 23rd - "We had a very difficult and disappointing qualifying session. At the start of the session I noticed that the engine was not running right. We brought the car in and realized that we had a problem. The team made the decision to go to the backup car. The team did a great job of getting the car switched over but it was the first time all weekend that the car was out and it didn't handle right. It's really a shame because we had a car capable of a top-five starting position, maybe even a pole car, but we will never know. This obviously hurts our chances tomorrow but the team is just going to have to stay focused and not make any mistakes if we are to get any points during the race."

P.J. JONES -20- Visteon Ford-Cosworth - Qualified 20th - "I had a good lap going. I put one together that was a 58.7 second lap but just as I crossed the finish line they threw the red flag for Vitolo's spin. We made the car better and we went the right way but we just can't buy a break. Everything we do does not work. I don't know what we have to do to get a break. Maybe I'll sleep on the right side of the bed tonight."

BRYAN HERTA -8- Shell Ford-Cosworth - Qualified 9th - "We made a couple of small changes and they worked. Everyone was making changes from yesterday but the key was that we made the right ones. Sometimes we do four or five changes and it doesn't seem to have an affect but then sometimes you hit on what you were missing. I wouldn't say we are perfect yet, we still have some improvement to do on the car but we are in the right direction. I am proud of my guys because I wouldn't have given two nickels for anyone to drive my car yesterday and the team knew it and they put their heads down and said they were going to make it better and they did. That's the key and it gives you confidence as a driver and makes me proud of them. It makes you feel pretty good going into the race."

MAX PAPIS -7- Miller Lite Ford-Cosworth- Qualified 18th - YOU MENTIONED THAT THE CAR IS NOT HANDLING RIGHT FOR YOU, THAT IT IS A BIT SLOPPY. IS YOUR CAR ONE THAT IS SUITED MORE FOR THE RACE RATHER THAN PUTTING ONE QUICK LAP TOGETHER? "Well I don't know. We thought we had a good car for qualifying as well but the results would say otherwise. We have too much understeer in the car right now so if we can get it worked out we will be in better shape. I will just have to rely on that Ford power to take us to victory."

MICHEL JOURDAIN, JR -19- Herdez Viva Mexico Ford-Cosworth - Qualified 19th - "The car is really, really, really loose. We are struggling quite a bit right now. We made some changes that helped the car but so did everyone else. They just made bigger gains than we did. We just have a big push in the car and we are having difficulty finding a way to fix it."
