- RuSPORT will try to rebound in Toronto after a disappointing weekend in Cleveland, two weeks ago. Despite a 13th place finish in Cleveland, Justin Wilson still remains in second place in the Champ Car driver's championship, just 26 points behind the current leader, Sebastien Bourdais. Cristiano da Matta's 14th place result in Cleveland dropped him to tenth in the points standings, but he remains just 12 points outside of the top five.

- Both Wilson and da Matta have experienced great success in Toronto in seasons past. Toronto was the site of Wilson's first Champ Car World Series victory in 2005. During that race, Wilson led the final ten laps and recorded the fastest lap time of the race at 59.940 seconds. In 2002, da Matta captured a victory in the Grand Prix of Toronto during his championship-winning season with Newman-Haas Racing.

- The 2005 Grand Prix of Toronto was also the first race for CDW as the primary sponsor of the #9 Champ Car driven by Wilson. Since then, the relationship between CDW and RuSPORT has grown, and CDW is now the full-time primary sponsor of the #9 RuSPORT Champ Car.

- Wilson has reached the runner-up spot on the podium in four events this season: Long Beach, Monterrey, Milwaukee and Portland. Da Matta has yet to reach the podium this year, but posted impressive fifth-place finishes in Long Beach and Portland.
