Third Time's the Charm: Mario Dominguez will make his third Champ Car start in Toronto this weekend. His previous best finish came last year when he took the checkered flag in 12th position. Dominguez has consistently run in the top-ten in 2004 and plans to earn his third top-five finish of the year in Toronto.
Toronto Native: Herdez Competition mechanic Tess Brelia is a native of Toronto. In 2003 Tess became the first woman in the history of Champ Car to be a full time over the wall crew member when she changed the inside front tire on Ryan Hunter-Reay's car. Tess joined Herdez Competition in January and was promoted to a lead position. She is in charge of the rear of Mario Dominguez's #55 Champ Car, with responsibility for everything from the roll hoop back, including motor changes, suspension changes, shock absorber changes and the fuel cell.
Meet Mario: Mario Dominguez will participate in Thursday nights Fan Fest in the National Trade Center at Exhibition Place. Dominguez will answer the fans questions from 6:30 to 6:45 and sign autographs from 6:45 to 7:30. His teammate Ryan Hunter-Reay will also participate. Ryan will be on hand for questions from 5:15 -- 5:30 and sign autographs from 5:30 -- 6:15.
Mario on Toronto: "Toronto is one of the best stops on the circuit. It is an amazing city; in fact I always like to go a little early and just spend time there. The track is tough, but a lot of fun. High speed straights with tight hair-pins and ever-changing track surfaces that includes bumps and manholes, so you really want to have a good handling car, it gives you the extra confidence to "hang it out" a bit more in areas that you definitely wouldn't otherwise. I had a good car in Long Beach and of the races that we have run this year, that track is the most similar, so I am sure we will do well in Toronto."
