Fernandez, Galles Racing International Rack-up Valuable PPG Points

Toronto, Canada - Adrian Fernandez raced the #10 Tecate Beer / Quaker State Lola Mercedes-Benz to its fifth Top 10 finish in a row by grabbing seventh place at the July 16th running of the Molson Indy Toronto.

Fernandez and the Galles Racing team were 15th in the points leading up to the Toronto race, but another strong consistent finish found Fernandez tied for 14th when the checkered flag fell.

The Galles team struggled during qualifying, posting a speed of 108.885 miles-per-hour which put them on row 8. Race day found Fernandez charging to the front, passing Danny Sullivan on the first lap. The Galles Racing International team helped Fernandez move-up several positions with the aid of their flawless pit stops.

"We've been really consistent the last several races and the team is doing a great job," explains Fernandez. "We've had our share of problems qualifying but we're getting there. The most important thing is that we're not making mistakes and in order to win races you have to finish first."

Fernandez will next race the Tecate Beer / Quaker State sponsored indycar on Sunday, July 23 at the Medic Drug Grand Prix of Cleveland.

Transmission Failure Foils Strong Finish for Greco and Galles Racing International

Toronto, Canada - Marco Greco, driver of the #55 Brastemp Lola/Mercedes-Benz indycar had a disappointing finish at the July 16 running of the Molson Indy Toronto.

The Galles team qualified on row 13 with a top speed of 106.435 miles-per-hour.

One race day, Greco was pleased with the car's balance until an incident with Eric Bachelart knocked off the rear wing and sent the team into a crash. The team replaced the rear wing and fixed the side pod damage and was able to get Greco back on course.

The team's day ended early on lap 45 when the transmission on the #55 Brastemp indycar broke, leaving the team sidelined for the rest of the race.

"My team did a great job getting the rear wing replaced," explained Greco. "I was really happy with the balance of the car, but the transmission broke and we weren't able to finish the race. I think we should be in good shape for Cleveland."

Marco Greco will next race the Brastemp - sponsored indycar on July 23 when the indycars take to the runways of Cleveland's Burke Lakefront Airport.
