"It was a crazy race!" laughed Patrick Carpentier after collecting the third place trophy for the Toronto Molson. "It's fantastic to do well in Toronto -- I've never been lucky here, and this is my best result ever; I so happy. My car was very fast, but I had a problem with too much brakes at the rear early on ... after we sorted that out, I was able to run well, and managed to keep out of trouble on the track -- although I stalled it twice in the pits and I'm pretty lucky to be here! I kept half of my 'push to pass' until the end and that worked well too -- overall a great result for me; I'm a better racer than qualifier and that showed today. Thank you Toronto!"

Patrick finished 3rd behind race winner Sebastien Bourdais and 2nd place finisher Jimmy Vasser.

Paul Tracy finished in 5th place after an action filled race which saw on traqck incidents with Wilson and Jourdain and two penalties imposed by Champ Car Offcials.

"I'm a bit perplexed ... Wilson spun in front of me, and I get penalised for tagging him, and then, after I arrive at turn one ahead of Jourdain and have the corner, I get another penalty beacuae he wouldn't give it up?" questioned Tracy.

Notwithstanding all of the on-track incidents, drama and two penalties, Paul kept charging in front of his hometown fans and took away points that keep him in contention for the Championship, and hungry for a podium in Vancouver.

A miscalculation on the fuel eventually saw Rodolfo Lavin finish the race out of fuel two laps before the finish, taking 14th place. "We had a good rhythm -- my lap times were okay, but we bent a toe-link and went a lap down because we had to change it. I'm better and better every race, and as frustrating as this weekend was at the end, I'm already looking forward to Vancouver".
