MI-JACK CONQUEST RACING'S ANDREW RANGER TO START SIXTH AT MOLSON GRAND PRIX OF TORONTO
Toronto, Ontario, July 8, 2006 -- Andrew Ranger put in his best qualifying effort this season for the Mi-Jack Conquest Racing Team today by registering the sixth fastest lap of the final round of qualifying for the Molson Grand Prix of Toronto. His sixth place on the starting grid is Andrew's second best qualifying position in his 20 race Champ Car career, his best performance in qualifying came last year with a fourth place in Cleveland. His Conquest team-mate, Charles Zwolsman will start tomorrow's race from the 14th place on the grid.
6th - Andrew Ranger #27 Tide Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone
"We knew this morning after practice that the car was good. We really wanted to qualify in the top-ten today because it's important for us to have a good start. I'm very, very happy. The team did an excellent job. Before going out on my last stint we did a good change on the car and was able to put it in P6. Starting sixth tomorrow, we will push hard to stay there and hopefully move up. We just have to remain calm tomorrow at the start and during the race because anything can happen with the first turn and the yellow flags."
14th - Charles Zwolsman #34 Mi-Jack Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone
"We expected to do better after our good performance yesterday but in my first stint I was only able to put in a couple of clear laps and then in my second stint I had a problem shifting which is unfortunate because the car is well balanced. We won't know our true potential until after the warm-up tomorrow. Hopefully the car will be as well balanced as it was today and if we keep our nose clean and stay out of trouble we can definitely improve our position in the race."
