Tony Kanaan and the #55 Hollywood/Mo Nunn Racing Mercedes-Benz Reynard picked up six-tenths of a second over yesterdays provisional qualifying time but dropped three spots on the starting grid today for Sunday’s Miller Lite 200. As a result of his 1-minute, 7.173-second lap today (an average of 121.013 mph) over the 2.258-mile Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Kanaan will start 19th on Sunday. Gil de Ferran clinched the provisional pole with a track-record time of 1:05.347 (124.394 mph) set on Friday.
Race time is 2 p.m. EDT Sunday with a two-hour tape-delayed television broadcast set to begin at 4 p.m. EDT on ABC-TV.
