ROCKINGHAM, United Kingdom - Friday's CART FedEx practice and qualifying activities at Rockingham Motor Speedway have been cancelled due to the ongoing water problem that has plagued the new facility since yesterday morning.

Workers continue to try to correct the situation and are drilling holes around the 1.5-mile oval track in an attempt to alleviate a drainage problem, which is causing water to seep up through the race track. Additional jet blowers have been brought in and there are now five on site to dry the track.

Tomorrow's schedule has been revised (see below) to eliminate the morning warm-up and add a two-hour morning practice session, which would be the first time the Champ Cars have been on the track, at speed, all weekend. The starting grid for the 210-lap Rockingham 500 will be set according to current championship points. Team KOOL Green drivers Dario Franchitti and Paul Tracy will line up 6th and 11th, respectively. Points leader Kenny Brack will start from the pole.

The television schedule has also been modified, and the Rockingham 500 will now air via tape-delay tomorrow at 12:00 p.m. EDT, on ESPN2.
