MILWAUKEE, WI (June 2, 2001) - Rain washed out today's qualifying for tomorrow's Miller Lite 225, leaving the starting line-up to be set based on current point standings. That means Team KOOL Green drivers Paul Tracy and Dario Franchitti will start fourth and 11th respectively for Sunday's race at The Milwaukee Mile.

Tracy, a two-time winner in Milwaukee (1995 & '99), is tied for third in the points with Cristiano da Matta and Jimmy Vasser. Tracy's fourth starting spot is a result of a tie-breaker -- highest finishing position in a race. Da Matta's win in Mexico earns him the third starting spot, while Tracy's pair of third-place finishes puts him fourth on the grid, in front of Vasser.

With today's practice and qualifying rained out, Tracy, Franchitti and the TKG engineers will have to rely on their abbreviated practice on Friday to get the cars set up for Sunday's race. Friday morning's practice was rained out, but Tracy turned 70 laps around the historic one-mile oval and teammate Franchitti got in 89 laps during the afternoon session.

Tracy's fastest lap on Friday was clocked at 163.262 mph (22.756 seconds), seventh fastest on the day. Franchitti's fast lap, good for 13th, was 162.262 mph (22.878 seconds).

Points leader Kenny Brack will start from the pole, with Indy 500 winner Helio Castroneves lining up on the outside of the front row.

The 225-lap race starts at 4:00 p.m. (EDT) on Sunday and will be televised live by ABC.

PAUL TRACY, #26 TEAM KOOL GREEN HONDA/REYNARD:
(Starting 4th based on 2001 CART FedEx Championship Series points)

"The track is going to be green at the start of the race and I hope to use that to my advantage. Our baseline setup on the KOOL car was pretty good from yesterday and we'll just have to adjust it during the race because I think the track is going to be changing throughout the race. It's not the ideal situation, but it's the same for everyone."

DARIO FRANCHITTI, #27 TEAM KOOL GREEN HONDA/REYNARD:
(Starting 11th based on 2001 CART FedEx Championship Series points)

"We didn't have a great day on Friday so we were really planning to use today to work on the car. What will happen is that Iain (Watt, chief engineer) and the other Team KOOL Green engineers are going to have to guess a bit more tomorrow. I really think we could have qualified better than 11th - I like this track and have qualified well here - but we're starting 11th and we just have to make the best of it and get to the front by whatever means we can."

KYLE MOYER, TEAM KOOL GREEN TEAM MANAGER: On the cold temperatures: "I think your smartest drivers are going to be even smarter because the tires are going to be on the edge (due to lack of heat) and the track is going to be green (due to lack of grip). Add both of those together and it's going to be really slippery out there at the beginning. But with 26 cars running in earnest, it won't take long for the track to rubber-in. So the first stint is going to be a real handful. From that point on, I think the balance will be about the same. We've just got to get our guys through the first stint."
