"Today's result was truly a Team effort. I was not happy with the car in the morning warm-up, so I talked to my engineer, Tom German, and Roger (Penske) and we decided to change the car completely, and go back to a set-up closer to what we ran Friday and Saturday. I really have to give the credit to the guys in the crew because they put in a lot of work today getting the Marlboro car ready.
"The car was great straightaway. At the beginning of the race, I was trying to stay with the lead pack, conserve fuel and be patient. I didn't have to make a lot of adjustments to the car and we were one of the last to come in (lap 82) during the first round of pit stops. Our break came on the second stop when Roger (Penske) brought me in a little early (lap 151). I had a clear track and was able to run fast laps and pass (Scott) Dixon (#18 car). Roger (Penske) made a great call. I'm very happy to be on the podium today -- it's been a while."

"We had a strong car today and the two things that hurt us the most were the backmarkers and the yellow. It's unfortunate that there were guys out there who were two laps down and they were blocking. It's a real shame because we had a good opportunity to score some valuable points and move forward in the Championship. On the restart on lap 121 Max made a ridiculous move and cut in front of me and I had to lift off to avoid contact - I couldn't risk not finishing the race and losing points.
"The good news is that we're heading to Mid-Ohio where we had a 1-2 finish last year and the Marlboro car performs well there, so hopefully we'll be able to leave closer in the Championship points."
