PAUL TRACY , #26 TEAM KOOL GREEN HONDA/REYNARD: (8th with a lap-time of 1:33.572 seconds / 107.532 mph)
"That wasn't the best qualifying session I ever ran, that's for sure. I got held up on my quick lap on the first run. Then, I went out for my second run and locked it up. I got almost into the runoff area but the engine stalled, causing a red flag. So I had to sit on pit lane most of the rest of the session (serving an eight-minute penalty for causing a red flag). We got going with about two minutes to go -- enough for one quick lap -- but as soon as I left my pit box the track went red for someone else going off. Just no good luck for Team KOOL Green in that session. I guess we're saving it all for tomorrow."
DARIO FRANCHITTI , #27 TEAM KOOL GREEN HONDA/REYNARD: (6th with a lap-time of 1:33.380 seconds / 107.753 mph)
"We're struggling with traction most of the way around the circuit. There's a couple of areas where the car isn't very good at all and we're fighting those. We've got to work on it for tomorrow and get the KOOL car better and see what we can do. We didn't get a clear lap with the second set of tires. We were six-tenths up on our best lap when that last red came out, and we were only half way around the lap, so I think we've got the potential to challenge for the pole. I think with the harder tire this year and the rain this morning, that we don't have the grip that we've had in years' past. You've got to take that into account. Whether it's that one ultimate lap or the race, you don't have the level of grip that we've had here."
