INDIANAPOLIS, IN (Feb. 25, 2000) -Team KOOL Green focused on the fundamentals of the Honda/Reynard 2KI in a two-day test at Sebring International Raceway, Feb. 23-24. Although rain interrupted the testing on Thursday afternoon, Paul Tracy managed to complete nearly 300 miles of running, enabling the team to evaluate an extensive range of options on the KOOL Reynard's mechanical set-up.

"Our objective was to work on a variety of different set-ups with the brakes, shocks, sway bars and suspension geometry," said team manager/crew chief Tony Cotman. "Despite Thursday's rain we got through most of our 'to do' list and came away with a good idea of what does - and what doesn't - work on the Reynard in road and street course trim."

Consulting race engineer Tony Cicale attended the test which saw Tracy log 153 miles on Wednesday, turning a best lap of 51.07s in the process. The following day he added 122 miles to his total and lapped at 51.2s before stopping for a routine engine change.

"The car was pretty good right off the trailer," said Tracy. "We were focusing on different mechanical systems so we ran a ton of wing to help feel the effects of all the changes we were making."

"All that wing made us slow on the straights, but we learned a lot about the car, which is the objective of testing."

Following the Sebring test, Team KOOL Green returned to its Indianapolis shop to continue preparations for the opening round of the 2000 CART FedEx Championship at Miami-Homestead Speedway on the weekend of March 26. Team KOOL Green's next scheduled Champ Car test is March 19-20 at Nazareth Speedway.
