JOURDAIN JR. ONE STEP BEHIND THE POINTS

Herdez backed driver Michel Jourdain Jr. was running in 12th after starting from the 20th spot in the Target Grand Prix Presented by Shell and gaining positions until he was able to reach the 12th place, but finally appeared in the race results in 18th spot.

At the start, Michel's car was very loose and after some adjustments it developed push. He also had gearbox problems that did not allowed Jourdain to run comfortably. The Mexican driver consistently regained positions after his pit stops and completed 197 of the 225 laps in the race. Unfortunately, his engine expired.

Michel Jourdain Jr., Car #19 Herdez/Payton-Coyne Racing Team: "The engine seized for lack of lubrication and we had to head to the pits and retire. It was a shame."
