Briscoe has an 11th position finish after a difficult weekend without Justin Wilson

SURFERS PARADISE, Qld, Australia, Oct. 22, 2006 -- Ryan Briscoe (#10 CDW / RuSPORT / Ford-Cosworth / Lola / Bridgestone) finished 11th in the Lexmark Indy 300 in Surfers Paradise, Australia. Justin Wilson (#9 CDW / RuSPORT / Ford-Cosworth / Lola / Bridgestone) did not start the race due to a fractured scaphoid bone in his wrist which happened during Friday's pre-qualifying warm-up session.

"It was great to complete my first Champ Car race," said Briscoe. "We got everything out of this race that we wanted which was some experience. It was unfortunate that we went a lap down early but we kept on fighting and set my fastest lap near the end. It was great to race in Surfer's Paradise and I'm looking forward to move on to Mexico City."

Jeremy Dale at RuSPORT stated, "Try as we might to get back to running two cars, we were not able to do that this weekend here at Surfer's Paradise. That was most unfortunate for our sponsors, all the guys on the #9 car and more than anyone else, Justin. It goes without saying that we'll do everything that we can to get Justin back into the #9 CDW car as fast as possible."

"On the car #10 side, today in the race we achieved our primary goal which was to get Ryan a full race distance under his belt and therefore as much experience in a Champ Car as possible. Unfortunately, because of an early altercation he ended up a lap down and we never quite recovered from loosing that track position. I know he was on a steep learning curve all weekend and that will certainly serve him well going into the final round of the season at Mexico City in three weeks time," finished Dale.

The final race in the Champ Car World Series 2006 season will be held on Sunday, November 12th at Gran Premio Telmex in Mexico City, Mexico. The race will be broadcast live on SPEED TV on 3:00 p.m. EST.
