Mario Domínguez - Driver
(On his practice incident)
"Going into turn one, I just lost it under braking. I tried to turn right but unfortunately, I hit exactly perpendicular to the tire wall and did quite a bit of damage to the car. Luckily it was the practice session before qualifying so we were able to get the back up car out in time for qualifying."
"This is a very challenging track and I'm definitely still learning how to go fast here. We still have a lot to do but we made a couple of changes to the car during qualifying and they were definitely in the right direction."
* The Indy 300 marks Domínguez's 17th start in the CART FedEx Championship Series.
* Domínguez currently stands 20th of 21 drivers in the series Championship with 17 points.
Final practice for the Indy 300 will commence on Saturday morning at 9:45am followed by final qualifying at 1:50pm. Local time in Queensland is 14 hours ahead of Eastern Time in the US.
CART Friday Night will air on cable network SPEED Channel on Friday night in the US at 11:00 pm ET.
