CHAMPCAR/CART: St. Pete: Fernandez Racing Saturday qualifying report

Adrián Fernández, Owner/Driver -- ...

Adrián Fernández, Owner/Driver -- #51 Tecate/Quaker State/Telmex Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone:

"Today was much better than yesterday when we didn't have any luck in qualifying. We had too much traffic on our first run and on the second, we really never put in any good laps because of all the red flags. We waited a little bit longer before we went out today, but it was just about luck really. You never know when it is going to be right for you. This time it worked for us. We had the right strategy; maybe I needed a couple more laps to put in a better time, but that would have been the same for everybody. I'm happy for the performance. It has been awhile since I have been in a race car and I am just happy to be here."
