MOTEGI, Japan -- Oriol Servia ended his run of bad luck at the Twin Ring Motegi as he easily qualified for his second Firestone Firehawk 500 today.

Servia, who experienced some mechanical problems during the first day of practice on Thursday, did not encounter any difficulties during the morning practice prior to qualifying, nor in qualifying itself. The Sigma Autosport driver completed his two qualifying laps around the 1.549-mile egg-shaped oval in his #22 Sigma Autosport Lola-Ford/Cosworth.

Servia's second qualifying lap was his fastest, as he recorded a time of 26.528 seconds, for a top speed of 210.072 mph.

Tomorrow's race begins at 11:30 p.m. Eastern Time, and will be shown on national television on a tape-delay basis on ABC-TV, Saturday, May 19, at 1 p.m. E.T.

"I am not sure if it is the car or the track or both. We have been struggling a bit. I just can't seem to find the speed, we better find it for tomorrow. I will need to move up early in order to stay on the lead lap." -- Oriol Servia, Sigma Autosport Driver
