CHAMPCAR/CART: Sigma appoints new engineer

Sigma Autosport has appointed Dave Watson as Chief Engineer. Watson is a respected Champ Car engineer and aerodynamicist. The English native comes to Sigma from Mo Nunn Racing, where he worked as the Chief Engineer on Tony Kanaan's car.

Sigma Autosport has appointed Dave Watson as Chief Engineer. Watson is a respected Champ Car engineer and aerodynamicist. The English native comes to Sigma from Mo Nunn Racing, where he worked as the Chief Engineer on Tony Kanaan's car.

Sigma Autosport, based in the Chicago suburb of Bridgeview, is managed by veteran Paul Cherry, who together with owner Tom Wieringa founded the new team in Spring of 2000.

Cherry said, "I've known Dave Watson for years and am very happy to have such an innovative and experienced engineer on our new team. He brings a wealth of knowledge to Sigma and we couldn't be happier to have him at the engineering helm."

Dave Watson has worked for Lola Cars International as well as Team Rahal during his Champ Car tenure. Watson is married and has one child. -Sigma
