RuSPORT Wraps Sebring Champ Car Testing effort

After completing a successful maiden season that saw RuSPORT concluded three days of testing today as part of the Bridgestone Presents The Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford open test in at Sebring International Raceway in Sebring, FL. The team logged over 500 miles with rookie driver A.J. Allmendinger behind the wheel of the After completing a successful maiden season that saw RuSPORT Ford-Cosworth/Lola for most of the sessions.

"I ran a lot on Wednesday and it was a really good experience to get out there with other teams and other cars on the track," said Allmendinger. "With each lap and each session we made progress forward. We were a little off the pace, but we're moving in the right direction. I definitely feel we have put together a good start for heading into Long Beach."

Allmendinger took the day off on Friday to seek medical attention for a sore elbow resulting from bursitis he developed during his fitness training. Champ Car veteran Michel Jourdain Jr., who was already in Sebring observing, was available to step in for A.J. and help the RuSPORT crew continue to gather valuable track time and data.

"These three days were tremendously important for us," said Steve Wulff, Operations Director for RuSPORT. "We were able to get a good gauge on where we are and where we need to be to be competitive at Long Beach. Every piece of information we gathered is useful and every exercise here had purpose for us. It was also very beneficial to us that Michel was here and able to step in on such short notice so that we could continue to make headway on our program.".
