INSTANT REPLAY

Paul Tracy of Team KOOL Green overcame a dismal start to claim his second victory of the 2000 FedEx Championship Series season in the Motorola 220 at Road America. Tracy (KOOL Honda Reynard) recorded his 17th career Champ Car victory, tying Danny Sullivan for seventh place in CART history. It was his first triumph on a permanent road course since 1994 at Laguna Seca. Tracy rebounded from a terrible start precipitated when his engine inexplicably shut down on the opening lap, dropping him from his seventh-place starting position to 23rd in the 25-car field. He led 13 of 55 laps and finished 7.450 seconds ahead of Adrian Fernandez (Tecate/Quaker State/Patrick Racing Ford Reynard), while rookie Kenny Brack (Shell Ford Reynard) finished third. Despite finishing 18th, Michael Andretti (Big Kmart/Texaco/Havoline Ford Lola), exited Road America with 125 points and FedEx Championship Series lead, followed by Roberto Moreno (Visteon Ford Reynard) with 112 and Gil de Ferran (Marlboro Honda Reynard) with 106.
