The second round of the FedEx Championship Series was postponed yesterday, following 2 inches of snow at the Nazareth Speedway. Practice and qualifying had already been completed for the event, but overnight the weather system changed and a blanket of snow covered the track. The race has been rescheduled for Saturday, May 27/ The starting grid was set on Saturday, with defending FedEx Championship Series and race champion Juan Montoya (Target Toyota Lola) earning the pole position at an average speed of 176.868 mph (19.255 seconds). Reynard Champ Cars took 8 of the top 10 spots with Helio Castro-Neves, driving the Penske Honda Reynard the highest placed Reynard in third place on the grid.

Helio Castro-Neves, 6th in practice said of his qualifying run, "The car was working well, but I wish I had one more lap. When you finish the run, you always think of a way you could have gone quicker. The setup is really good, and I'm confident about long runs because it felt good yesterday."

Paul Tracy, driving the KOOL Green Honda Reynard was a solid 4th. "I'm happy with our starting position because we had our car on a real fine edge balancewise," he observed. "The car was too nervous because of the way the wind came up this afternoon. But if we make a good start and hold our ground, I know we can make up some positions in the pits."

With the rescheduled date, the Bosch Spark Plug Grand Prix becomes Round 5 of the FedEx Championship Series, following Round 4, the Firestone Firehawk 500, Saturday, May 13 at Twin Ring Motegi, Japan.
