Oriol Servià , #96 Telefonica/Toyota-Reynard

Morning Warm-Up: 16th 27.148 - 168.410 MPH Started: 18th 26.074 -
175.347 MPH Finished: 5th

On the race:

"I think I had a top three car today. I was definitely faster than Cristiano and Roberto, but Cristiano was driving very defensively. He also did a good job today, I am really happy we were able to give Cal his first two top five finishes in the same race. Today there was a lot of passing, which surprised me, I am happy with jumping from 18th to 5th, I feel like I did a good job today. I made a mistake and I nearly touched the wall, it cost me a position. I had good stops, my guys did a good job, and my engineer John Dick did a very good job. We really struggled throughout the weekend, but he did another excellent job today, and gave me a great car. I did have a few gearbox problems, probably eight or nine times, it would not go into fifth, and then bang, it was there, and my back-end would swerve. It was a fun day, it was hard but it was fun."

On the Contact with Max Papis:

"I was on the outside in three, and Max was on the inside. I think he lost his air and we bumped tires, it was close, but we both saved it."

Cristiano da Matta , #97 Pioneer Electronics/WorldCom/Toyota-Reynard

Morning Warm-Up: 3rd 26.607 - 171.834 MPH Started: 10th 25.679 -
178.044 MPH Finished: 4th

On the race:

"We had a good day today. I am very pleased to have earned some more points, and be back in ninth place in the championship. The weekend started a little rough, but I think it ended very well. I thought it was going to be very tough pass here, but both Oriol and I made up a lot of positions. I had some handling problems throughout the race, but I think everyone was experiencing the same thing, except for maybe Michael."
