Pacific Coast Motorsports Looking for West Coast Advantage at PIR
PIR Race Winners: PCM drivers Alex Figge and Ryan Dalziel may be rookies in Champ Car, but they know how to win at PIR. Figge's victory at PIR came in 2000 driving in the Pro Mazda Series while Dalziel scored his victory from the pole position while competing in Atlantic in 2004. The last time Figge and Dalziel competed at PIR, they finished on the podium, driving together as teammates in the 2005 ALMS race.
Oregon Roots: Team director Tyler Tadevic is a seven-generation Oregonian. Tadevic grew up in Bend; approximately 150 miles east of Portland.
Champ Car Rocks the Street: Alex Figge and the #29 Molecule crew will perform a pitstop demonstration live on the streets of downtown Portland. The Champ Car Rocks the Street party will take place from 4:00 -- 9:00 pm at 6th Street and Oak (southwest), Thursday, June 7th. Alex's pitstops will happen at 5:20 and 6:20pm.
Alex Figge on PIR: "It will be great to get back to racing. I am fully recovered from the back injury that forced me to sit-out Houston and have completed three tests since then. I definitely feel ready to get back to it. I think the team has made great strides in the last five weeks. The three tests went quite well and it seems the team is really starting to gel. Portland is a tough racetrack, both Ryan and I have had victories here and the last time we were here we finished on the Podium as teammates, so we know our way around. I'm looking forward to getting out there in the Molecule car."
Ryan Dalziel on PIR: "I am thrilled to get back in my Champ Car and race! I raced at VIR and Laguna Seca in the DP car and I've done three tests in my Champ Car, so it's been a busy five weeks. I love Portland. It's always been a good track for me and we had a good test here last month so I am anxious to see where we are on the timesheets. We're sitting just three points out of eighth in the championship so a good result this weekend will go a long way."
