McDONALD'S DRIVER BOURDAIS TO START FIFTH FOR THE G.I. JOE'S GRAND PRIX OF PORTLAND; PACIFICARE DRIVER SERVIA TO START 12TH

Sebastien Bourdais, No. 1 McDonald's Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone: "I read the time on the dash -- a 57.79 -- and we had run the fastest lap of the session at that point. Then I brought the car back to the pits because of the red flag. The McDonald's car felt really good. On the second set of tires we went out first and when I came by the pits two guys came on track ahead of me and I ran in dirty air so that hurt us. Then Ryan (Hunter-Reay) pitted and I thought I would have a chance to run in clean air but another red (flag) came out. The car didn't feel as good on the second run as it did on the first. The (timing and scoring) monitor showed us P1 and we are checking with Race Control to get a clarification of the situation. There was a power outage so they are checking their data."

NOTE: After reviewing the data, Champ Car officials declared the qualifying times official at approx. 5:45 p.m. PT

Oriol Servia, No. 2 PacifiCare Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone: "The PacifiCare car had a lot of understeer today. We hoped to qualify better but it is a good car for the race because the rear is stable. We are one of the only ones to improve our time today. Everybody is 3/10ths slower today but we improved 3/10ths so we are heading in the right direction. I need to get more laps in the car and have a trouble free race tomorrow to get a good result. The PacifiCare pit crew is one of, if not the, best so I am hoping we can make up some positions in the pits and on the track."

ON THE SCHEDULE TOMORROW: The morning warm-up will take place from 9:00-9:30 AM PT while the 105-lap race will begin at 12:45 p.m. PT. The race will be broadcast live on CBS Sports beginning at 3:00 p.m. ET.
