Quotes from J J Lehto
Friday We made a tremendous improvement from the morning session but are still two seconds off the pole. Basically we are a little lost at the moment. We were really lost at Detroit and it seems it is continuing here, although we found a little bit in the afternoon. We now have some sort of direction so hopefully we can go further tomorrow.
It's always difficult to get your bearings on a new track when the car doesn't want to behave and work with you. When you're sliding all over the place it's no fun. The circuit looks very simple but in the end when you get the right set-up, and get the right line, you can gain a lot of time."
Saturday We have a good race car. This was a big step forward today. We didn't even have the right set-up really for qualifying, it was just an experimental thing for an aerodynamic test, we weren't as concerned for the set-up. We still need some direction. As luck would have it, we managed to go quite a bit quicker, and I think I could have gone even quicker. Unfortunately, we had a little miscalculation with the fuel so we lost the fuel pressure and I wasn't able to do the lap times. We are still off the pace a little bit, but we now have something to work with."
Sunday We have been very unlucky all season so far. We've just been trying to run very hard, but it seems that bad luck is on our side at the moment. There's going to be a lot of changes in a short time. We are working very hard, we're starting to test more, and we are trying to get things together. Things haven't come together as they should in the last couple of races. It's just a shame, because the guys have been working very hard, but with no results.
