Team Notes: Friday Provisional Qualifying

Adrián Fernández, Owner/Driver -- #51 Tecate/Quaker State/Telmex Honda/Lola/Bridgestone:

Qualified: 11th 59.650 118.833 mph

"We had a good run in practice this morning and were seventh [fastest], so it looked good in that respect. The car still didn't feel comfortable and we made some changes. On my first run in qualifying, the car was very loose. On the second run, I had a lot of understeer. We did improve the car considerably from our first run, but still we need something in the middle. At the beginning of the morning practice session and our first run in qualifying, we weren't able to handle the rear [of the car]. The change we made before our second qualifying run really stabilized the rear, but I lost two-tenths in the corners with a lot of push and two-tenths puts you around fourth or fifth place. Hopefully we can improve tomorrow."
