Bridgestone Tire Performance Summary: Bridgestone engineers brought the same primary, alternate and rain tire compounds and constructions to Portland that raced here last year. During a completely dry race with no full course cautions, the primary and alternate tires performed well and withstood full stints with additional wear left on them. Every car on the grid started on the red alternate tires except for the two Team Australia cars, which opted for primary black Potenzas. Complete tire selection details can be found on the chart below.

From Sebastien Bourdais, #1 McDonald's Cosworth/DP01/Bridgestone: "This race was totally like a dream. The MacDonald's car was just blindingly fast, and we could save more fuel than the others and then show that we had the better pace. The car was magic today on any tires, but especially on the options [alternates]. The consistency was good - what else can you ask for when the tires are consistent and fast and you win the race!"

From Joe Barbieri, Manager, Bridgestone Motorsport: "First and foremost, congratulations to Sebastien Bourdais and Newman/Haas/Lanigan Racing. 100 wins is an incredibly impressive statistic, and they're certainly showing no signs of stopping anytime soon. And congratulations also to Champ Car and all the drivers for a flawless standing start the first time out. It added a great deal of excitement to the race and allowed some bold moves at the beginning. The primary and alternate Bridgestone Potenzas performed to expectations and served their purpose to create interest during various points in the race as teams attempted to use them to gain on their competition."

Temperature ranges (F): Race temperatures ranged from 81 to 95 degrees track and from 64 to 66 degrees ambient.

Temperature ranges (C): Race temperatures ranged from 27 to 35 degrees track and from 17 to 18 degrees ambient.
