INDIANAPOLIS, IN - August 27, 2003 - PK Racing announced today that former Formula 1 star Mika Salo of Finland will assume the driving responsibilities of the #27 PK Racing Lola Ford Cosworth, replacing Max Papis, with whom the team recently parted company.

Salo, whose eight-season F1 career most recently included rides with Ferrari (where he filled in for an injured Michael Schumacher for six races in 1999), Sauber and Toyota, will make his Champ Car debut with PK Racing at this weekend's Centrix Financial Grand Prix of Denver.

"This is a learning year," commented team co-owner Craig Pollock, "and following a very positive test with Mika in Mid-Ohio last Monday, both Kevin Kalkhoven and I have decided to bring him on board."

"I am excited to have this opportunity with PK Racing," Salo said. "I enjoyed the test at Mid-Ohio and have been getting to know the team since then - it is a good group, and I think we will work very well together. Street racing is my favorite, so I am looking forward to the upcoming events at Denver and Miami."
