Detroit, Mich. (August 6, 1999) - Roger Penske announced his driver lineup for the FedEx Championship Series for the year 2000 today. Gil de Ferran and Greg Moore have both signed three year agreements to drive for the Reading, PA based team.

"There's been a lot of speculation whether or not we're going to be in racing," said Penske. "I have a love for this sport and want to continue not only in open wheel racing but also in NASCAR."

"I've had lots of discussions with Al (unser Jr.), obviously, about his future and what we've been able to provide for him over the last several months. We talked in May and we talked again recently and we both decided that probably the best efforts for both of us would be to go in two different directions to look for opportunities.

"Next year, we are counting on both Gil and Greg to work with us to meet the challenge of the close competition in CART Racing."

When asked if the team would continue building its own chassis, Penske said, "I'm at the 90 percent assurance that we'll not run a Penske chassis, but we'd run a Lola or a Reynard. We can enhance it with our people and build our capability with our people over in England even further.
