This afternoon's qualifying session, which was scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. ET has been cancelled due to rain. The starting grid will be determined by number of Championship points earned to date, which will place Scott Dixon eighth on the starting grid and Mauricio Gugelmin 22nd. The Miller Lite 225 at the Milwaukee Mile will begin at 4:00 p.m. ET and will be aired live on ABC.
SCOTT DIXON - # 18 POWERWARE PANASONIC PACWEST TOYOTA
Starting Position: 8th
"It would have been nice to run today, but starting eighth on the grid is pretty good for us," said Dixon. "Yesterday we struggled a lot and we needed more time in the car, but my car has been good and with the Toyota Reynard package I feel we would have qualified well if we did run. It will be harder for some of the guys like Mauricio starting at the back of the grid. He's got a good car as well and it's a shame he didn't get a chance to qualify to improve his position."
MAURICIO GUGELMIN - # 17 NEXTEL PACWEST TOYOTA
Starting Position: 22nd
"Well, suffice it to say, today's rain definitely didn't help us for tomorrow's race," said Gugelmin. "With the starting grid being determined by the number of championship points earned to date, it puts us in a spot on the grid where we will have our work cut out for us. But I've raced here enough times to know that you can win a race from anywhere on the grid, so I'm sure we will put together a good strategy for the race to help us improve our position. We only have 96-miles under our belt this weekend because of the bad weather, but I seem to do pretty well here because I really like this track. I'm ready to line them up and get after it to see if we can't add a few more points to my total."
